Main Purpose of the Job: To support the Applications portfolio for the JV projects
Responsibilities
• Adhere to all JV HSE guidelines and proactively encourage an HSE culture
• Promote the development of Algerian national staff in his / her field of expertise
• Provide 1st and 2 nd level applications support
o Problem identification and initial troubleshooting
o Problem escalation to applications manufacturer
o Apply Software fixes as required
• Upgrade of applications SW
o Define projects to upgrade applications software as required
o Influence applications project teams
o Receive into operations new or modified applications
• Act as the local Oracle Data Base administrator
o Troubleshoot data base problems
o Provide on-going maintenance
o Upgrade to new data base releases as required
• Manage the change process for the applications portfolio
• Manage the applications support contract and relationships outside Algeria
Specialist Skills and Experience desired
• 5 years of applications support or DBA experience in a similar environment
• Proficient in Oracle 8 or 9
o Backup, recovery and server tuning
o SQL Queries
o Data base administration
• General understanding of Visual Basic and Access
• General understanding of financial and maintenance systems
• Strong Interpersonal and Customer facing skills.
