Main Purpose of the Job: To support the Applications portfolio for the JV project
Responsibilities:
Adhere to all JV HSE guidelines and proactively encourage an HSE culture
Provide 1st and 2 nd level applications support;
Problem identification and initial troubleshooting;
Problem escalation to applications;
Apply Software fixes as required.
Upgrade of applications SW
Define projects to upgrade applications software as required;
Influence applications project teams;
Receive into operations new or modified applications;
Act as the local Oracle and MSSQL Data Base administrator
Troubleshoot data base problems;
Provide on-going maintenance;
Upgrade to new data base releases as required;
Manage the change process for the applications portfolio;
Manage and update the asset changes.
Specialist Skills:
Proficient in Oracle 8 or 9 and SQL server
Backup, recovery and server tuning;
SQL Queries;
Data base administration;
General understanding of Visual Basic and Access
General understanding of financial and maintenance systems
Strong Interpersonal and Customer facing skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in 2nd Line IT Support of Windows Server 2003;
Background of working to SLA’s;
Participation in Quality and Service improvement initiatives;
Possess good organization and communication skills;
Able to work accurately and independently;
Experience of working with ITIL processes;
English / French / Arabic speaking.
