The Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution adopted in 1920, provided women with the right to vote. From this period, White women actively participated in Politics and social reform movements. Black Women also played a critical role in the Civil Rights Momvement. They developed powerful organizational skills to carry out their struggle against discrimination.
