Résumé
The research is an attempt to discuss the phantom theory that has always shaped the American foreign policy since its adoption in the 1940’s. The political philosophy of the phantom theory which is based on what academics called political fear has had a huge impact on successive US governments and paved the way to the establishment of a policy that would characterize American diplomacy till today. The main question with which this research deals is to what extent has the phantom theory reshaped/remodeled the American foreign policy : ideologically, politically and culturally so that to remain as an unique international leader.
