Résumé
This thesis consists in a comparison between three literary works. The first “Light in August” written by William Faulkner, the second “Beloved” written by Toni Morrison and the third “Mornings in Jenin” written by Susan Abulhawa. This comparative study is mainly based on psychoanalysis, which will be used to find similarities and differences between the three works. It will also be used to study the role of amnesia and amnesis in their relation to memory. This thesis will also show the role of language, especially the choice of words, to prove the relation between memory and the psyche of the main characters.
