Résumé
In our research work entitled "a critical approach to teaching translation teaching English at translation department" we tend to look at the students weaknesses in English, mainly, when translating a source language text into a target language text. Therefore the result ( production) of a translated text is structurally weak, ungrammatical sentences, incomplete sentences... etc. Consequently we try to highlight the students’ needs and difficulties they encounter particularly when learning English and translating texts. As well as, we tend to give some suggestions in which our students could improve theirs writing abilities. These suggestions are all proposed by the students and teachers of translation department at university of Oran through out two different questionnaires submitted to them.
