Résumé
My research work is based on the novel wives and daugthers (1866) of the Victorian writer Elizabeth Gaskell (1810-1865) . She is noy only concerned with social criticism but with literary production as well , for she is writies about the development of a literary genre , normaly the novel and the influence of the genre and movements from the late 18 th century to the mid 19 th century .
