Mots clés

Résumé
This research aims to identify major problems with English pronunciation among EFL learners at Annaba University in three principal areas; vowel reduction, connected speech, and prosody to help them make their speech more intelligible and prevent unexpected misunderstandings. To achieve our aims, we will include an experimental group and a control group. Participants in the experimental group will be given more opportunities to practise and listen to English pronunciation, taught in an approach to pronunciation that highlights the interrelatedness of various aspects of English pronunciation and communication, encouraged to speak intelligible rather than native-like English, and will be recorded and confronted to their own speech. While participants in the control group will receive traditional instruction (phonological knowledge and choral drills).
