Résumé
ASEAN economic integration is one of the most successful regional integration processes developed among developing countries. However, many researches argue that the success of ASEAN is confined to political cooperation rather economic cooperation. Attracting foreign direct investment is the main object of ASEAN economic integration. Investment promotion has thus been a key policy instrument used by all member states to steer investment into strategic sectors that complement national comparative advantage, promote export activity and employment generation. This strategies improve the competitiveness of regions and of constituent countries in attracting FDI, and the share of asean in FDI increase significantly.
