Résumé
North-Eastern Algeria is periodically subjected to earthquakes. No matter what often localized in the fringe tellienne, they can nevertheless appear in the atlasic piedmonts and continental basins. To decipher the mechanisms of operation of these natural phenomena, amounts identifying their traceability, i.e. the geological faults, which under pressures are blocked until the threshold of rupture and give earthquakes; in order to correlate them with the other geological structures in place and to learn from them the lessons necessary for management and the forecast from the seism in a general way. But this type of analysis encounters various difficulties in particular the weakness and the geo-cartographic inaccuracy of the bottom existing (limiting geological, datings….), prevalence of the terrigenous facies and the degradation of the morphological expressions of the deformations. The case of the Western part of Constantine is revealing. The reflection initiated here is at the same time multi-field and multi-scalars. She is based on the characteristics and the anomalies as well morphological as geological of this area to identify recent and current deformations and this, thanks to criteria of active tectonics. All the corpus of this thesis will be articulated in fact around four essential axes: • Identification of the topographic expressions of the deformations. • Analyzes historical seismicity of the area. • The neotectonic relation, deformation and seismicity. Lastly, the analysis will also relate to certain impacts of neotectonic such as the strong uplifts, the dismemberment of the relief, the incision of the valleys and subsidence.
