Résumé
This work has tried to bring forth simultaneously a certain religiosity of poetry with the mystique of religion as well as a hightened spirituality which poetry channels. To do so Eliot set no limitations and relied on influences from diverse literary traditions from Dante to Joyce through Laforgue in order to capture modern man’s predicament.
