In order to understand and to heal to such difficulties, the description of the ESP teaching situations is believed to be indispensable. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to describe the ELT/ EST teaching situation in the Electrical Engineering Department (EED) through the study of attitudes, motivations and expectations. A case study methodology is chosen is this research, and questionnaires and semi-structured interviews are used for the collection of data. Thus, 58 students and three (03) EST instructors responded to the questionnaire, and two EST teachers accepted to be interviewed. The results of the research revealed that the negative ideological views about foreign have disappeared and let the place for aware positive but instrumental attitudes. The teachers were found to have a higher motivation to teach/study ESP and better perceptions of the ESP course than the students. Additionally, a deep mismatch has been identified between ESP instructors and EED students. As a result, it is proposed that an immediate analysis of students’ needs be conducted, and a whole ESP course be designed, in addition to the necessity to establish a motivational strategy. New descriptive research works are also believed to be still necessary for a fuller understanding of this.
