In the present study, the overvoltages caused by energising a damped line were invertigateed. fferent types of sourced their effects on the magnitued of source and their effects on the magnitude of the over voltages have been considered :- Infinitet source; inductive source; resistive source; combination of 2 and 3.; mixed source.
